The Board of Trustees of Shirley Boys’ High School is very pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Tim Grocott to be the next Headmaster of the school.

Mr Grocott, who for the last four years has been the Associate Headmaster at the school, will be the successor to Mr John Laurenson who is retiring at the end of this year after 23 years in the role.  

Mr Grocott is an Old Boy of Shirley Boys’ High School,  having attended from 1986 – 1990. 

Prior to joining the staff of Shirley, he was Deputy Principal at Burnside High School, and a former member of the staff of Papanui High School. 

Mr Grocott has worked hard over the last four years in the design and build of our new school and has good relationships with the key stakeholders in our community. 

He has a strong commitment to single-sex boy’s education and a great love for Shirley Boys’ High School, and we look forward to his leadership of our school over the next few years. 

Mr Grocott will take up his new role in January 2020.
