Thank you to the Red Cross

Fiona Browne —

Since 2013 Shirley Boys' High School has distributed $146,000 in Red Cross funding to help ease the cost of learning for students whose families have been affected by the earthquakes.

The Red Cross funding has paid for some of the following for affected students:

· Uniform items including house shirts, jackets, scarfs and beanies

· Curriculum costs including outdoor activities, school camps, course fees, field trips

· Co-curricular fees including sport fees and uniforms, creative and cultural activity fees

· Lunchtime activities

Many of our students have benefited in some way from this distribution of funding by having some items on their student account paid for. Shirley Boys High School would to take this opportunity to publicly thank the Red Cross and the numerous people who made donations for their generosity.

The photos in the gallery show examples of our students enjoying the types of activities that have been supported with this funding.
