Congratulations to the large number of Volleyball boys who represented Canterbury North or Canterbury South in the recent Sentinel Tournament held at Pioneer Stadium. Teams were selected following a series of trials. The team you were available to trial for was based on your geographic location of where you live in Canterbury. Teams battled it out in Junior, Senior and Open levels in both male and female competitions to find the dominant side of Canterbury.
Canterbury South won this Tournament by two sets of which Tasipale Valavala was asked to accept the award on behalf of all of the South Teams.
Senior South team:

Volleyball Junior Canterbury Championships 6th, 7th, 8th November:
Congratulations to the A team for making the final against Aranui High School. Unfortunately the boys went down two sets to nil in the final, although both sets were extremely close.
Four boys also made the Canterbury Tournament team:
Josh Mosa’ati
Willem Button
Tasi Valavala
Troy Hulston
The B team finished in 8th place out of 13 teams.
The boys are now preparing for the South Island Tournament at the end of November and are aiming to take this out, this has been done only once by Shirley Boys' High School when their current coach, Daniel Koster, was a student at Shirley Boys.
Huge thanks has to go to the coaching team of Dan Koster and Miss Smith. We look forward to seeing the results of the South Island Tournament.
