The school had an important assembly last week in which a senior student called for support for Gay Pride week. The issue of a strong society having to be supportive of diversity was a theme that ran throughout, including addressing the requirement to support the rights of ethnic minority groups, religious groups, LGBTQ groups and of course the rights of females.

The plea was well received and this week students had the option of wearing a rainbow ribbon, to visibly demonstrate their support of a society that embraces diversity. In addition through the school council, the school is looking to set up an ongoing support network, to ensure that long term support is maintained as well.
