Introducing the new staff of Shirley Boys' High School 2016

Andrew Lee

I’m originally from Southland. I went to school at Southland Boys’ High School and then spent four years at Otago University studying Commerce where I graduated in 2014 with a double major in Economics and Marketing Management. In January 2015, I moved up to Christchurch to attend Teachers' College at UC. Shirley Boys’ is my first full-time job and I’m really looking forward to the year. I’m teaching all Commerce subjects, 9Eco, 10Eco, 11Eco, 12Eco and 13Bus which is a great mix to start off with. I also love sport. I’ve played Basketball for the last seven years after starting in High School and having a heavy involvement in the college basketball scene at Otago University. I’ve also played Waterpolo since I was nine years old and hope to rejuvenate the great game at Shirley Boys’. I also love watching Rugby and American Football. In my spare time I like getting out and about and seeing what Christchurch has to offer.

Rachel Campbell

I am really looking forward to the year ahead working as the SBHS Gateway Coordinator. Originally from Nelson, I studied at Otago University before going on my OE in London. Since leaving University, I have primarily worked in food science or market research roles. Outside of work, my time revolves around my two young children - Lucy and Ryan.

Tony Christie

I am a Shirley Boys' Old Boy who is a first year teacher after graduating in 2015 from the University of Canterbury with a Bachelor of Education (Physical Education with First Class Honours). This year, I will be teaching PE and Social Studies. I play rugby for the New Brighton rugby club, and will be coaching rugby and touch at Shirley Boys.

Robyn O'Brien

I was previously a literacy teacher aide at an Alternative Education Programme before coming to Shirley Boys' High School to work in the English Department.  Prior to that I was a teacher aide at Burnside High, Aranui High, and Linwood Avenue School.

Suzy Lallemant

Bonjour!

I am returning to SBHS (I first taught French here in 1997) after several years away teaching French and ESOL at schools around Canterbury. I am excited to be in a vibrant languages department where all cultures and tongues are valued and encouraged. I have a busy life with seven children who are involved in everything from ballet to ice hockey, but I look forward to being actively involved in the School community.

Scott Edwards

My name is Scott Edwards, I hail from Rangiora and am an ex-student of Rangiora High School. My favourite sports are basketball and ultimate frisbee. I studied at Canterbury University and came away with a B(Ed) Physical Education with Mathematics.
