International Students

Recently the school hosted two students from China.

Recently, the school hosted two students from Guangzhou in Southern China. Ziyang Zhang and Shengtai Chen.  They arrived on 10th August and stayed until 21st August.  During this time, they enjoyed participating in New Zealand life and studying with SBHS students.

They both loved the experience and found the classes “more comfortable and relaxed” than theirs in China. They found that in the classes you could just “speak out” and students are much freer than at home.

In Guangzhou, the classes have about 60 pupils who are known, not by name, but by number. They do not move from one classroom to another as happens here, but stay in the same room. Classes finish at 5pm.
