Simon Berghan made his test
debut for Scotland in mid-February vs. France in a Six Nations Rugby Match. He
played at tighthead prop and even managed to have Shirley BHS sky-blue coloured
tape around his head as opposed to the Scottish navy blue. This was a very
close game with the French pulling away in last few minutes to win 22-16.
Josh Harbrow was part of the winning Black Sox softball team at the International tournament in Auckland. He hit a few big home runs during the week and was proudly wearing his gold medal at the airport.
Morgan Fox completed an eleven-hour round trip ascent of Mt Taranaki (2518 metres) as part of a group raising money for Cure Kids. Contributors to his fundraising can contact him: https://queenstownchallenge2017.everydayhero.com/nz/morgan-fox
An Old Boy in Paris....... Aidan Gutteridge left Shirley Boys High in 2014. He is living and working in Scotland now, but is currently on holiday in France. When he left New Zealand nearly two years ago, his SBHS scarf was one of the first things he packed. Aidan said to his family at the time, "Once a Shirley Man, always a Shirley Man".
