Cycle Safety information

Shirley Primary School —

Info for Parents/Caregivers of Year 6 students:

Your child as a Year 6 has the opportunity to participate in the Christchurch City Council “Cycle Safe” education programme this year.

We have been given the following dates:
Group 1= Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th May

Group 2= Friday 14th and Monday 17th May

Group 3= Tuesday 18th and Wednesday 19th May

Parental permission is required so please return the slip which has been handed out to your child. We will let you know what group your child is in once we have permission back.

Students are required to bring bikes and helmets for the sessions. Closer to the time, your child will be told on what days they need to bring their bikes/helmets. There are a small number of bikes that are provided by the Christchurch City Council but unfortunately there are not enough for everyone so we require children to bring their own bikes/helmets. If your child does not have their own, please see if you can borrow a bike. Please let us know if you require a bike and helmet as I need to give them numbers ASAP.

Please can permission slips be back by Wednesday 5th May (Wednesday, first week of Term 2)

Information about the Cycle Safety Programme is attached to the letter sent home with your child. More information about the Cycle Safety programme can be found at https://ccc.govt.nz/.../resources-for-schools/cyclesafe

Please email or come and see me if you have any questions.

Many thanks,
