Ti Kouka Camp 2024 by Shirley Primary School

Year 5 & 6 Camp

Shirley Primary School - April 10, 2024

From Wednesday April 3rd to Friday April 5th, the Tī Kōuka students attended Waipara Adventure Camp.

We went there to gain experience and learn how to be safe in the outdoors, work as a team and to have lots of fun! We also learned the Waipara 5 C’s while we were there (Communication, challenge, co-operation, confidence and courage).

Here is a list of some of the things we did there.

  • Giant swing

  • Big water slide

  • Archery

  • Faulty towers

  • Kayaking

  • Orienteering

  • Team building

  • Obstacle course

  • Flying fox

  • Rope swing

  • Sliding down the hill on cardboard

Some of our highlights were the waterslide because it was really fast and sent us far, watching the movie, completing the team flags and the yummy kai.

We would like to thank the following people for making camp possible.

Parents - Eric, Cushla, Morgan, Meighan, Carolyn, Rachel, Victoria, Chris, Graeme, Hannah, Mel, Katharine, Aroha and Rosalys.

Teachers - Ms Fuehrer, Miss Matai, Ms B, Mrs Marshall, Mrs James and Mrs Foulds.
