The Wakatipu Netball Centre (WNC) competition is for students in Year 3 - 8. Games are played on a Saturday at the Queenstown Events Centre.

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

There is a lot of information in this notice so please take the time to read the whole notice and action as required.

Please read this notice from WNC with additional information on the Netball season and dates for pre-season coaching and coach training sessions.

Note: We will offer the Future Ferns Netball Programme for Years 1 & 2 in Term 2. Registration information will be communicated at a later date.

Shotover Netball Registration: If your Year 3-8 child (boy or girl) is interested in playing netball for Shotover Primary School for the Wakatipu Netball Club (WNC) competition, please complete the netball registration form by 9am Monday 7th March.

The Sporty registration form - LINK:

• Select - Shotover Primary School, enter only player/coach/manager details.

Coaches / Managers: To enable a successful season each team MUST have a Coach and a Manager and you must also fill out the Registration form - LINK.

• As per WNC notice, all coaches and managers are required to hold a vaccine pass and will need to provide evidence of this prior to the season starting.

Important Netball dates for 2022 season:

Monday 7th March - Shotover Netball Registrations close at 9am (No late registrations).

Friday 15th April - Netball Fees MUST be paid (see detail below)

Tuesday 3rd May - Netball uniform issued to teams (Netball fees MUST be paid). Timing TBC.

Saturday 7th May - Saturday Competition starts

Tuesday 28th June - Netball South Year 5/6 Tournament (Alexandra)

Wednesday 29th June - Netball South Year 7/8 Tournament (Alexandra)

2nd July - End of season festival for Year 3, 4, 5 & 6’s

9th July - End of season festival for Year 7 & 8 (*NOTE: first week of the school holidays)

* Alexandra Primary Netball Tournament - no date set

* Festivals and tournaments will be reviewed through the season, depending on Covid-19 restrictions.

*Season end dates - may be reviewed if games are affected by weather through the season.

Netball Fees:

Year 3- 8 Netball teams: Full amount due $50 per player

• Netball fees for the season will be charged to your child’s school account.
• Payment of can be made at the Shotover Primary Office or directly to the Shotover Primary bank a/c: 12 3405 0008709 00 (note your child's name/ netball/ year group)

Netball fees MUST be paid by Friday 15th April.

Netball Uniform:

We have invested a considerable amount into our Netball uniforms and therefore need your support to make this sustainable.

1. If your child is playing netball this season they will be loaned a Shotover netball skort or netball dress on the 3rd May, for the duration of the season.

• Players will be allocated a skort or dress, the uniform number will be recorded
• You, the parent, will be responsible for the uniform for the season

2. The dress or Skort MUST be returned to the coach/manager at the end of the season to be returned as a team set. Please ensure your child wears only the uniform number they were given for games, the coach/manager will have a list.

3. Each uniform will come with a ‘Uniform Bond’ which will be invoiced if your child's uniform IS NOT RETURNED by the nominated date at the end of the season - Skorts $40/ Netball dresses $80. Parents/players are responsible for their own uniform to be put in the team uniform bag, if your number is lost or damaged, you will be charged for it.

4. Uniforms will only be issued to players on Tuesday 2nd May . Netball fees MUST be paid. Times TBC

5. Fees MUST be paid by Friday 15th April.

6. Netball uniforms will only be allocated if netball fees have been paid.

Team Organisation: Teams will be based on children's Year level with teams of mixed ability. Please note ONE friend you would like your child to play with and we will do our best to accommodate this.

Extra support:

• Can we please have 2-3 parents to volunteer and support with the logistics of managing the netball uniforms for the 2022 season. If you can help with this please note on the registration form - LINK.
