Please take the time to speak to your child about road safety

Numerous members of the public have voiced their concern about the number of children who are cycling/scootering on the road between Shotover Country and Lake Hayes Estate. 

We had a near-miss incident earlier this week, where a car nearly ran into a child who wasn't paying attention to on-coming traffic. These incidents are reminders to us all that we need to be vigilant about road safety and our little ones.

Please remind your children about the importance of road safety, in particular:

- to only use the cycle paths and designated crossing points when riding a bike or scooter

- to never walk on the roads and always use the footpaths

- to stop and look for cars at each crossing point

- always wear a helmet when riding a bike or scooter.
