Entries are OPEN for the Auckland Airport Carnival Community Walking Parade!

Lisa Cooke —

With just under a month to go before the 2017 Queenstown Winter Festival kicks off, festival HQ is buzzing and the recent snow has got us all a little bit excited!

As a past participant in one of our events, we wanted to let you know we have a brand new event in the 2017 programme and would love for you to be involved.

As part of the reformatting for the 2017 festival, we’ve added a new, vibrant community ‘night walking parade’ to be a part of the Auckland Airport Carnival on Sunday, 25th of June. The parade will start from Marine Parade, travel through town, past the Earnslaw Park stage and finish at St Omer Park. The theme for the parade is “the Colour and Culture of Queenstown”, and will involve community groups, performers and have a focus on celebrating the diverse cultures represented in the Queenstown Community. We would like to ensure the parade has a vibrant visual element that celebrates Queenstown and it’s diversity and would love for you to be involved, so if you are keen on participating, please register online here

To get the kiddies involved, we are also running a series of art workshops where children can create their own masterpieces and show them off during the parade, plus we also have some established groups that they can join. More information can be found here.

We look forward to receiving your registration and celebrating the 2017 Queenstown Winter Festival with you!
