It's Getting Busy on the K&D

Claire Buist —

It's getting colder and darker in the mornings and the kiss and drop is being used by an increasing number of families. It continues to be under some pressure at 2:55 as well. To help us use this area safely and effectively, please follow these guidelines:

  • If you need to come into school with your child, or for that "one is never enough" SHOTZ coffee in the mornings, please do not park and leave your vehicle on the Kiss and Drop.

  • Please park in the spaces to the left of the Kiss and Drop at the end of the day and stay with your vehicle at all times.

  • Please do not encourage your child to cross the Kiss and Drop over to the grass verge. Using the designated crossing points helps develop good safe habits for our children.

  • Please do not pause in the right hand lane for your child to cross from between parked cars. This slows the flow of traffic and it is highly likely that your child will not be seen by other drivers.

  • If you are not in a hurry, delay your pick up a little. This will alleviate the pressure with more staggered traffic. There will be a staff member on duty until 3:15 each day that your child can wait with. This person will help your child locate you.

  • Once you have collected your child, please be prompt and exit the Kiss and Drop so as to allow someone else to use your parking space.

  • Please turn left at the exit of the Kiss and Drop.

  • If you are coming to our whole school assembly on Fridays and have parked in the Kiss and Drop area, please return to your car at the end of the assembly and meet your child there.

There may not be space available when you arrive at the Kiss and Drop. If this is the case, please find a designated park elsewhere (this may mean a short walk) or exit the Kiss and Drop and return again.
