This meeting has been called by the New Zealand Educational Institute (NZEI) which is the union representing NZ primary teachers. This meeting will be taking place on Tuesday 19th June in the afternoon. A number of our teaching staff will be attending this meeting so they can contribute to the discussion surrounding the upcoming contract negotiations.

Shotover will remain open for that afternoon, however please understand that the normal learning programme will not be running and adjustments have been made to the teaching teams to ensure there is appropriate cover in each habitat.

Should you wish to pick up your child at lunch time on this day (we suggest at either 12.30 or 1.30pm from the habitat) you are welcome to do so. Please let us know before the day if this is going to occur so we can have the staff in the right locations. Do this by filling in this quick form, and sign your child out at the office when you pick them up.

I apologise for the inconvenience and disruption this will no doubt cause some of our families. However, I am sure you can appreciate it is important for our valuable teaching staff to voice their thinking when it comes to their own employment conditions including salary levels.
