SPS Newsletter 7th November 2018

Kia Ora

We are getting to the sharp end of our concept learning. The culmination of which will be our Twilight Market in a couple of weeks' time. This will happen on Wednesday 21st November getting underway at 5pm - strangely enough about month before Christmas, so a great chance to secure some Christmas presents at an amazing price. All the details can be found on Facebook and also further on in the newsletter.

There is not much in life that can be guaranteed except death and taxes Benjamin Franklin once told us. What I can add to that list is that as humans we will make mistakes, and from time to time things won’t be perfect. How do I know that with such a high degree of certainty? Well, we are an organisation with a bunch of humans in it and humans aren’t perfect. However, when things do go awry we do work hard to sort it. If there is something that you think is not as it should be then please get in touch with us. The best way to do this is to directly with the adult concerned, if you’re not happy with the outcome then work your way up the chain. We think that is the best way.

As I write this, 123 Shotover kids are competing in the first ever Wakatipu Athletics at the Events Centre. This is part of the new pathway for sport in the Central Otago area. Those children that do well in this event will then go on to represent the Wakatipu Zone at the Central Otago event in Alexandra on the 20th November. My thanks to Anna Browne for sorting the logistics and ensuring all our Shotover kids got there. Also to the numerous mentors who ran various practices so kids could hone their run, jump and throw skills.

Two very exciting All Blacks tests ahead of us over the next two weeks. This week at 4am NZ time is the long awaited show down against England. The following week, a Sunday breakfast match will take place at 8am against the Irish.

See you on Friday at Assembly.
