All welcome...
Visit this articleKia ora and welcome back,
It’s lovely to see the children return refreshed and hear their delight as they reconnect with their peers and mentors. The children have made a great start to the term and it is obvious to me as I walk through the habitats the thought and care that the teams are putting into creating a welcoming and engaging learning environment for all of our children.
This continues through the entire day and an example of this is the variety of lunchtime clubs available for them to join if they wish.
We are very pleased to have secured Charlotte Ellis to fill Emily Forne’s position in the Kawarau team while she is on Maternity leave. Charlotte is a passionate and creative educator with over 10 years’ professional experience in education. Charlotte will start with us on the first day of Term 3. In the interim we are delighted to have secured Ruby Kay to take over from Emily until Charlotte starts. Emily’s last day is on the 31st May. Ruby is quite a find, she is experienced with teaching year 7 and 8 children and has proven success working with younger children as well.
A date to keep in mind is the staff only day on the 31st May. School will be closed for children on this day.
It is a privilege to be writing this entry for this newsletter as Acting principal while Ben is on sabbatical after a successful application to the Ministry last year. Ben will be returning to his role at the beginning of Term 3.
