On Tuesday, May 21, we are hosting two sessions with Tim Packer, Smart City Practitioner and former team lead for the NEC NZ's Smart Cities Solutions business unit, one at EPIC from 2 - 3 pm, and the other at the University of Canterbury College of Engineering from 5.30 - 7 pm.

Hear from Tim Packer, one of NZ's leading Smart City Practitioners, who explores how data and new technologies can make our cities smarter, safer places for us to live, work & play.

Tim Packer, co-founder of BucketLabs and former head of Smart City Solutions at NEC NZ Ltd , will take you on a journey into an emerging toolkit of new technologies being applied for smart city purpose, give a critical assessment of the overall progress being made by the smart city movement, and the challenges and opportunities they face.
Tim will also offer an alternative view and practical approach that may facilitate the next major breakthroughs required to ‘move the meter’ on smart city ambitions.

Christchurch city is undergoing rapid transformation, partly due to the post-quake rebuild, and partly as it is home to some of NZ's most engaged future-tech adopters.
Tim Packer will share his knowledge of new and emerging technologies within the SmartCity area.
He will be joined by some of Christchurch's leading innovators, to examine current and future projects underway within the city, and how this technology can and will influence how we work, live and interact with our city environment.
