SIGNAL Network - Techweek Edition May 2019

May is always an exciting month with Techweek kicking off next week,  check out our articles for the Christchurch and Dunedin events that SIGNAL is involved with.

May is also exciting from a SIGNAL perspective because we welcomed Janelle Gee as our Business Development Manager based in Christchurch.  She will be out meeting people and talking about our Xtend programme over the coming months.

During April, SIGNAL contributed to the Digital Skills Hui in Wellington which brought together people from across the Education sector, Public sector and industry to provide input into the work that the Productivity Commission is doing.  It was a full on day and we are looking forward to seeing the outputs and impact from the day.  One key takeaway was the value that "work-integrated learning" brings, be it projects, internships,  or work experience opportunities in partnership between education providers and industry.

Work integrated learning is a key aspect of the SHIFT programme and we have opportunities for industry to contribute with the SHIFT Industry Projects.  We have our speed networking event coming up on 11 June - find out more here!  And the next SHIFT intake commences July in both Christchurch and Dunedin, talk to us if you would like to know more.

It is always great to hear of employment outcomes and to be able to profile our student's success.  Check out the stories of Bryce and Jess to see what they have been up to.

We look forward to seeing you at a Techweek event soon!

Regards
Stuart
