Classroom Item - Room 13 - Tuakana-Teina Te Reo
For the last few Fridays, tamariki from Room 13 have been teaching some of our junior tamariki te reo māori.
The focus has been the sentence:"Kei te aha koe?" - "What are you doing?""Kei te pānui ahau" - "I am reading". They also learnt a range of kupu/words to use in this sentence, such as kanikani - dance, oma - run, tuhituhi - write.
Our seniors have learnt a lot too, about what it means to be teachers, how to lead and help others learn. It has been a great chance for everyone to be involved in a very mutually beneficial tuakana-teina learning experience.
We look forward to more tuakana-teina te reo learning in the future!
