South East Hamilton Schools Winter Sports Day
On Thursday, 18th May, over 110 year 5 and 6 students participated in our annual Winter Sports Day. This event has the largest gathering of tamariki from our cluster group and is designed to encourage tamariki to try new sports. This year we had a record number of children participating in the event with a Rippa Rugby team, two Netball, two Basketball, four Football and two Hockey teams.
This morning started off a little cold and foggy but the children all quickly warmed up and got into the spirit of enjoying participating in team sports. We really appreciate all the parents who came down to support and cheer on the children from the sidelines.
We were extremely proud of how the children represented our kura with their mahi tahi (team work) skills and the respectful nature in which they played their games.
We can’t wait till next year!!!
