On Monday, Room 13 got stuck into the ngahere/forest area behind the pool and cleared out HEAPS of weeds! We had lots of fun slashing, pulling, and hacking at ivy, privet and jasmine so that we could free the natives in that area.

Great progress was made but we also realised there's lots more to be done. This has been all part of our project to 'make a positive difference to our mangaonui gully. A big thanks to Craig Stevens for helping us make this difference by teaching us about the weeds and helping us to clear them all away.

Our Middle and Senior school kids are very grateful to HIllcrest New World for their donation of freshly baked buns to go with our vegetable soups that we cooked in our classes as part of our Matariki celebration. The buns were delicious, especially on such cold days, so thank you!!
