On Thursday 9th November two teams of tamariki travelled to Tauwhare School to compete in the annual T-Ball competition. This is a popular event for our kura and the competition to make the two teams was hotly contested during lunchtime games and practices.

We were greeted with an absolute stunning day and the children were eager to show their skills. They all competed with amazing skills in throwing, catching and striking the ball. It was impressive to witness the mahi tahi (teamwork) that our tamariki demonstrated throughout the day. The tamariki also showed ako in their ability to learn more about strategies in the game around where to hit the ball depending on their teammates that were on bases or how to get more than one opponent out through catches and run outs.

Our Silverdale Sloggers team showed exceptional skills on the day and earned a third place at the tournament. The best any Silverdale Team has achieved.
