Creating a taonga for someone special has been our students' focus for this term so far.

Over the last 5 weeks the senior school students have been learning about artistic techniques and styles. They have studied famous artists' work and practised creating their own sculptures, sketches and paintings.

The children have then used these new skills to create a taonga (gift) for someone special. They researched the person and thought about images and colours that remind them of that person. They planned a variety of ideas and then created their gifts from their favourite design.

Their challenge for the rest of the term is to create a taonga for the rest of the school. We hope you enjoy some of the taonga that we have shared here and we look forward to sharing our ones we create for the school.
