Te reo Māori

Priscilla Thatcher —

Kia ora Silverdale whānau, as part of my 'Within School Leader' role for our kāhui ako (community of learners) I will be doing what I can to promote the use of te reo Māori at our school. - Chloe Stantiall

One way I'll be doing that is by making a short video and supporting visuals for each class, to help us all learn kīwaha. Kīwaha are cool ways of saying things in māori - our English slang.

For these 2 weeks our kīwaha is "maramara keke" which means "piece of cake/easy as". Example: "Mum, can you do a back flip on the tramp?" "Of course - maramara keke, easy as!"How many ways can your whānau use it at home?
