Changes to BUSIT Timetables from February 2024
From Monday 5th February 2024, there will be some changes coming to the following bus services: No:10 Hillcrest and No:17 Hamilton Gardens University
What are the changes?
Both routes will see an increase of frequency (30-40 minutes) at peak times, and hourly off-peak times.
10 Hillcrest bus route will be changed to provide a quicker service to/from town.
- This service will NO longer serve the Jellicoe Drive area. Instead, this area will be serviced by the 17 Hamilton Gardens Uni bus. The 10 Hillcrest will now travel along Grey and along Naylor Street
- Remove the Masters Ave loop now this will be covered by the Meteor high frequency service, though access to the Hillcrest Shopping Centre is removed
17 Hamilton Gardens Uni bus will be re-routed to service the Jellicoe Drive area.
- Travel down Jellicoe Drive to service Hayes Paddock area, instead of travelling along Macfarlane Street
- This service will travel to Hamilton Gardens every trip including hourly on the weekends
- Trips before and after school will connect with Morrinsville Road to help get students to Berkely
- This is to ensure that Hamilton Gardens staff and visitors, Wintec staff and students, and Berkley Middle School students can still access their place of work/school
- This service will travel along Knighton Road towards the University of Waikato, coming along the south end of Knighton Road to the University, instead of going along Cambridge Rd, Hillcrest Rd, Silverdale Rd and the northeast end of Knighton

Why are these changes happening?
These changes went to public consultation in June 2022 via the ‘BUSIT Refresh’ project, and the BUSIT team now has the opportunity to implement these recommendations.
