Online Classroom Session with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.
On Tuesday, 22nd August Room 5 learners took part in an online classroom session with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.
Before the session we listened to three well known pieces of orchestral music and talked about how they made us feel and what we liked about the music.
The online session introduced the learners to each of the different sections of an orchestra. We also got to learn about the different instruments that are in each of the sections and what they sound like. The orchestra also performed a number of different pieces of music so that we could hear what it sounds like when all of the instruments are played together.
After the session two of our learners showed us what a violin looks like and what it sounds like when it is plucked and bowed.
