Classroom Item - Rooms 3 and 4

Priscilla Thatcher —

In room 3/4 we have been learning about different emotions. We have had various conversations about what different emotions look and feel like.

After reading 'The Colour Monster' we made jars to represent the different emotions the monster felt in the story; yellow for happiness, blue for sadness, red for anger, black for fear, green for calmness and pink for love. As a class we talked about different scenarios that have made us feel some of those emotions before. We then made the colour monster using all the different colours from the book and added some of our words to the wall.

We have focused on “I feel ______ when”, our next step in learning is to learn how we can regulate our emotions by talking about “when I feel ______ I can _______”.
