At the beginning of Term 4 the Senior School had the pleasure of having Meg Wilshier come in and teach us how to create with uku (clay).

She taught us how to make a pinch pot then how to turn this into a manu (bird). We had to learn how to connect clay by scratching it, so that our manu had tails and wings. Meg then took our creation home to be cooked in a special oven called a Kiln. She then returned for a second lesson where we got to paint our manu, then dip them in liquid glass. Meg then once again heated our manu in her kiln. The results look amazing and the creativity that the children showed was ka rawe!!!
