Last year, Astrid, who at the time was in Room 1, entered the Hamilton City Council 'Design your own Bike Helmet Competition. The 'Design your own Helmet' competition complements a range of initiatives Hamilton City Council is involved in to promote alternative modes of transport and safety on our roads.

There were two winning designs in each student category and Astrid was one of these winning students.  As a result, her design was replicated by a professional artist on to a cycle helmet and presented to her at a special prize-giving ceremony at the Council late last year.  Astrid is now riding her bike in style!   She not only looks cool riding her bike, but is safe on the road wearing her new helmet.
