Donation of an AED from Waikato Sunrise Rotary

Priscilla Thatcher —

We are fortunate to have been donated an AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) which is located in the foyer of our School Office. This can be accessed by the public during school office hours.

A huge thank you to Waikato Sunrise Rotary - and also Carla Goudie who started this process happening. Thanks for making our community a safer place.

An AED, or automated external defibrillator, is used to help those experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. It's a sophisticated, yet easy-to-use, medical device that can analyze the heart's rhythm and, if necessary, deliver an electrical shock, or defibrillation, to help the heart re-establish an effective rhythm.   The devices will not allow a shock to be delivered to a patient who does not require one, so they cannot be misused by the user.
