The students in Room 10 have been exploring the elements of art. They created interesting self portraits by blending pastels.

First they practised drawing themselves with pencil; placing eyes, noses, lips, ears and other facial features in proportionally correct places, before using oil pastels 'portrait' format on specifically cut paper.  They then designed backgrounds using crayons, pastels and dyes.  Small pieces of polystyrene foam were glued onto the cutout portraits before being glued to the backgrounds.
