Classroom Item - Room 17
Term 3 has started with some hands on, out of this world learning as we dive into the theme of space.
We got outside while the weather was nice and tested our hypothesis of ‘will our shadows move if we stand in the same place throughout the day?’. Some of us were quite surprised to learn that the sun stays still and it is the earth rotating which makes our shadows move throughout the day. Thanks to the house of science kit we were able to form the solar system and see all eight planets and their distance from the sun, make a galaxy, and explore how craters on the moon and other planets are made.
We are now busy turning our ako (learning) into something to whakaputa (share) to our SNS community at the end of week 4.
