On Friday, 9th April, 19 energetic students walked to Jansen park to play in a friendly touch rugby tournament against teams from Knighton, Hillcrest Normal and Hamilton East Schools.

Each team played 6, half hour games throughout the day. All the players showed amazing growth throughout the event developing game awareness, personal and team work skills. The Silverdale Normal School students represented our school in a positive manner playing to the best of their abilities and with good sportsmanship. Both teams had some wins throughout the day but the highlight was the team bonding and comradeship. A big thank you to all the parents who supported our teams on the day, especially to Taina and Jennie for helping coach the teams and support the running of the event.
