There is a lot of sickness in our school community at the moment. We ask that you let us know before 9.00am if your child is not coming to school.

Please advise the school office if your child is going to be absent for any reason. A huge amount of time is spent checking morning and afternoon rolls to ensure we have no missing children. You can email office@silverdale.school.nz, phone and leave a message on the answerphone 07 8567604, text the school mobile 027 7557917,or use our school app which has a Absentee button where you can fill in a form. Leave your child's name, room number and reason for absence.  If you know that your child will be away for more than one day, do tell us, and we won't contact you during that time period.  The app has a provision to let us know the date of absence and expected return date.

If you have not reported your child's absence, you will receive a text from the school office stating that your child is absent; it is very important that you acknowledge this text and respond. Our systems are only as good your involvement. If you change your details please ensure the school is informed.
