Seniors Explore the Gully

Brent Taylor —

On Monday, 24th May the seniors explored the Mangaonua Esplanade to think about what creates life on Earth.

For the next three weeks our senior students will be learning about what allows life on Earth after learning all about space. They will use experiments and scientific thinking to learn about the water cycle, what makes healthy soil and how plants and animals interact to make a healthy planet. To get our brains tuned into this way of thinking we visited the path that leads into the gully behind school. This got us thinking about what plants are introduced to new Zealand or native. What makes a forest and why does earth have life yet other planets don't?
