Our Charisms

Ben Gorman —

Influenced by the Brown Joe's and Mission Sisters

Our founders Charisms are based on the amazing work and life of St Mary MacKillop and the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart. Our school was founded by this Order in 1887. The Sisters devoted their lives to helping people in need, with a special focus on educating children. It is through education that we can help to encourage young people today to dream, journey, inspire and hope for the future.

The Charisms of the Order of the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart are:

  • listen to God
  • have an attitude of gratitude.
  • make room for all.
  • do your bit (never see a need without doing something about it)

In 1898 the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions, founded by Euphraise Barbier, took over the school. This has inspired our school tradition of Service and Mission. The Mission Sisters are guided by the following Charisms:

  • Knowing – We know God by praying
  • Showing - We show love towards others
  • Going - We go on a Mission to spread the word
