Be the second mouse!
This week and next week the virtue focus is on Fortitude - with a particular focus on persistence!
At assembly last week I shared this clip from the movie "Catch me if you can". Christopher Walken's character recounts the story of the two mice who fell into the bucket of cream. The one who gave up, perished. The one who fought and fought triumphed, churning the cream into butter and walking out.
Yesterday's cross country saw many students being like the second mouse! They stuck at it and gave their all! Tino Pai Tamariki ma!
This term there are lots of opportunities for students to "be the second mouse!"
I encourage you to pick up on this phrase of encouragement. We want all our children to be the second mouse!
On another note - a big thanks to Mr Richmond, Mrs Gallagher and everyone who contributed to such a fantastic day yesterday. Here are a few pics. (Thanks to Mrs McKendry from St Patricks for sharing these)
