RESPECT THE ENVIRONMENT

Ben Gorman —

This week and next week our focus is on respect for the environment. This Native American Proverb is quite appropriate.

The YouCat (Youth Catechism) sums up our responsibility as:

436 How should we treat the environment?
We fulfill God’s commission with regard to creation when we care for the earth, with its biological laws, its variety of species, its natural beauty, and its dwindling resources, as a living space and preserve it, so that future generations also can live well on earth.

As stewards of God's creation, we can make a start by doing the little things right! We can take responsibility for our own actions, our own waste and our local environment.

Eradicating litter... Recycling... Reducing single-use plastic... Repurposing waste... Prioritising sustainability when shop. There are many little things we can do that will make a difference.

When we do these things, we show respect as stewards to God's creation.
