Introducing: Natalie Gillespie
NAME: Natalie Gillespie
TYPE OF MEMBER AND RELATIONSHIP WITH SCHOOL:
Parent Representative. My sons Jack and Billy are in years 5 and 1. Iris is 18 months old, so we have a while to go until she’s in Korora!
WHAT SCHOOLS DID YOU ATTEND AS A CHILD?
I went to Fosse Primary School and English Martyrs RC Secondary School in Leicester, England.
WHAT DO YOU DO FOR A LIVING?
I’ve been working as the editor of Beauty Review NZ for about 9 years now. I work closely with both our clients, beauty brands; and our 50k+ members, who place reviews on the site.
WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE BEST THING ABOUT ST JOSEPH’S SCHOOL?
The community.
IF YOU WON LOTTO WHAT WOULD YOU DONATE TO THE SCHOOL?
A huge library. The library was my favourite place to be when I was at school and at university. School libraries have the potential to inspire and nurture a love of reading, as well as being a safe place for kids to go and chill out.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE QUOTE OR SAYING?
“It actually doesn't take much to be considered a difficult woman. That's why there are so many of us” - Jane Goodall
WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES?
I love all kinds of TV shows, from Game of Thrones to Doctor Quinn, Medicine Woman. (I didn’t say I like good TV shows.) I like to read, knit and play board games - our weekly Family Game Night can get a bit lively!
IF YOU COULD REPRESENT NEW ZEALAND AT THE OLYMPICS IN ANY EVENT WHAT WOULD IT BE AND WHY?
Is there an event for the enthusiastic but uncoordinated? That would be the one. Or Curling. Welcome to the Olympics…here’s your broom.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE MOVIE (and why)?
Rocky. It’s a really beautiful, uplifting film and who doesn’t love a training montage?!
