The Lions Christchurch Schools' Music Festival

Pamela Gallagher —

St. Joseph's senior choir back at the Town Hall.

On the 7th November 2019 our senior choir participated in the annual Christchurch schools music festival. However this year, not only did they get to experience singing in the newly refurbished Townhall, but they also got to celebrate the Festival's 80th anniversary.   This year the choir have learned various songs from different era's over the past 80 years from songs such as 'Somewhere', 'California Dreaming', 'Land of Hope and Glory' 'A Te Tarakihi'.

A huge congratulations to two of our Year 8 students who not only took part in the Representative Choir, but also helped to compere this event. Ka Pai Mia Grounds and Jack Flanagan.

All of our students should be extremely proud of themselves for the hard work that they put in to help make this an evening to remember.

Last but not least, a huge thank you goes to Mrs Stafford who is not only on the committee for the Lions Christchurch Music Festival but also helped to organise our attendance.
