Year 8 - What to expect in their last term at school

Ben Gorman —

There are just 42 and a half days left at school for our Year 8 tamariki. This article outlines some of the things that will occur throughout this term.

High School Visits - Varies

Different schools have different days - please note that if your child is attending an orientation or testing day that you still need to report the absence to the school office.

Y8 Bus Trip - 11 November

This day has been well appreciated by previous Y8 students. It provides the opportunity for the boys and girls to see where most of their peers will be going to school next year. Plus provides a safe way to increase their confidence with public transport.

We will catch the "#1" bus into Christchurch stopping off to visit St Bedes and Marian College. We then catch the bus into the bus exchange. We will visit Catholic Cathedral College and students have the opportunity to purchase their lunch (if you send them in with some $$$).

Usually we encourage students to sign up for a "Metro Card" (at the library) before this day - however, in January they are rolling out a new Nationwide public transport payment card - so it might be prudent to wait for that.

Y7/8 Camp - 26 - 29 November
