Hoatu Fund
The Hoatu Fund is a fund of the Catholic Bishop of Christchurch, for the benefit of vulnerable women, children and families. St Joseph's has access to funds to support families in need!
School families, or advocates for school families may request support with:
Uniform
Camp or Technology Centre Fees
School Stationery
Sports Fees (school associated)
Some funds will also be allocated towards grocery vouchers when families experience trauma or crisis.
Guidelines:
The fund will be administered by the Principal according to these guidelines:
No family will receive more than $400 from the Hoatu fund in a given year
Preference will be given to families who have made an attempt to pay school fees (not activity donation) in the last 12 months
Students with more than one school aged child will be given preference
The Principles of Catholic Social Teaching will be applied
Exclusions:
Attendance Dues
Retrospective Refunds
Activity Donation
