On Wednesday, Spaces 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 21 went on an exciting trip to Te Iringa o Kahukura (The Port Hills). This is a part of our Aotearoa New Zealand Histories Unit where we have been learning about our local place. We had to go on a bus to where our walk started. Then we had morning tea with a view. We could see the whole city! Next, we went on a big walk. There were a lot of trees and plants, and we had to walk up a big, steep hill. It was hot and the track was a bit slippery, but it was so fun! We saw Rāpaki Hill and Sugarloaf too! After our walk we went to the playground where we had lunch. Jude's Mummy bought us all ice blocks which were delicious! After a nice long play we walked back to school along the Ōpāwaho/Heathcote River. We saw birds, flowers and harakeke too! It was a great day. By Space 10.
