SHARP announcement for 2023

Julie Bassett —

Kia Ora SHARP whanau

Kia Ora SHARP whanau,As many of you will know, SHARP has been running without staff in key positions for many months now. It is thanks to our hard working team, going above and beyond that we have been able to continue operating during this time, however, after being unsuccessful in securing a new manager, the SHARP Board have made the difficult decision to cease current operations at the end of this term. This is to say, that we will not be running a Christmas holiday program, and our afterschool care will not be reopening in the new year. This is not a decision we have taken lightly, and we will miss seeing all our leaders and children grow and learn more about God. SHARP has been providing Christian out of school care for 20+ years in the Spreydon area and this has been our point of difference from other providers. We also know how dependent our working families are on our service and this has made this decision doubly difficult. We would like to thank you, for your on-going support of SHARP, and for your understanding as we have been in this period of transition, and we wish you well in the search for alternate care for your children after the end of Term 4.We would also like to make a special mention to our wonderful staff, who have all stepped up to continue being able to provide a safe, happy environment for your children. As many of our staff have been with us for such a long period of time, this news has been difficult, so we appreciate your patience and support as we see out the term with the same care as we have always provided. If you have any questions, comments or feedback, please do not hesitate to contact me.Warm Regards,Lauren Yannakis, on behalf of the SHARP Board -SHARP Board Chairperson, SHARP.manager@swbc.org.nz027 507 0991
