Te Reo Māori Kupu Punipuni

Julie Bassett —

Te reo kupu punipuni is a fun exciting range of te reo Māori games that the Māori council ran this week. It came out of an idea from Ella Greggains.

Te reo kupu punipuni is a fun exciting range of te reo Māori games that the Māori council ran this week. It came out of an idea from Ella Greggains.

Some of the games we played were pūkana, where you stand in a circle and do your pūkana to the person next to you or the papamā punipuni (the whiteboard game). In this game you had to identify the words in Te Reo.

Now that I've explained what kind of games we played I can tell you why we chose to play te reo māori kupu punipuni in week eight. We thought it would be appropriate to play te reo māori kupu punipuni on in week 8 because it is Wiki o te reo Māori Week.

We hope that Māori kupu can become a Māori council event for years to come
