On Wednesday Somerfield Te Kura Wairepo took part in this year's National Simultaneous Storytime. The story this year was Speedy Sloth by Rebecca Young and Heath McKenzie, Illustrated by Dave Mottram. A National Simultaneous Storytime means that children across Aotearoa are reading the exact same book at the exact same time! The purpose of a Simultaneous Storytime is to promote the value and fun of books, reading, and community storytime activities, as well as the work of the featured author and illustrator. Along with the picture book, there have been some activities for all the children to do. For example there have been colouring in sheets, word finds, and lots of other activities as well. We hope your children enjoyed this year's National Simultaneous Storytime!
