Message from the Tumuaki
He mihi mahana kia koutou katoa - Warm greetings to all.
Today the committee of a Board member, teacher, two students and myself selected some names for the local iwi to consider for the name of the kiwi. We will announce the name when we hear back from the iwi.
We have our fingers crossed that the rain holds off and we have a fine evening on Friday. The evening begins at 5pm with our kapahaka and choir performing outside the hall. The food trucks will be on the basketball courts and the PTA sausage sizzle will be in its usual place outside the hall. Coffee will also be available.
So you can plan we have the following available
Mr Whippy
Fitz Weiners
Fush & Chip van
PTA Sausage Sizzle, fizzy and chips
Somerfield Te Kura Wairepo
Coffee from 5:30pm
Fire Truck's obstacle course
Bouncy Castle
We are looking forward to seeing you.
Best wishes to our Canta Math's Teams that are competing tonight at Cashmere in the Kahukura Competition.
Good luck to the following students:
Team 1
Griffin Squires Brown, Harrison de Groot, Nina Zhao and Alex Hall
Team 2
Ben Nellis, Niamh Greggains, Violet Westmerland Drysdale and Sophia Buunk
On Friday 11 December after 3pm you will receive your child's report digitally unless you filled out the survey to indicate you want a paper copy as well. We still have 55 children whose parents are not on the APP. We need everyone on the APP as this is our main form of communication especially for reporting to parents with reports and Snapshots. Please contact Kellie Englefield if you need help. k.englefield@somerfield.school.nz
