Message from the Tumuaki

Denise Torrey —

He mihi mahana kia koutou katoa - Warm greetings to all.

It's great to see everyone back and we are looking forward to you joining us at our first post COVID assembly next Friday, 19 June.

On Monday we moved Waka Mokihi into their new spaces. If you haven't seen the video check out our website. www.somerfield.school.nz

Whanau of Year 0-2 are invited to visit today and tomorrow between 3 - 3:15pm. Everyone else can visit next Monday, 15 June and Thursday, 18 June between 3 - 3:15pm. Our team are excited to share their new spaces with you.

This week and next the old classes were to be  lifted and removed. Unfortunately as they have discovered asbestos the removal is on hold until Worksafe NZ investigates and advises.

We have had to reconfigure the entrance from Somerfield for this briefly. Unfortunately the Somerfield field is still out of operation for a wee while as work on the new court continues and the fields made right. We are looking forward to having it operational in Term 3.

We'd like to welcome Phil and Pete from Playworks and their team who will be working on our landscaping plan. Watch this newsletter for updates.

This week we have put up the term dates and some of the other important dates for your calendar. The major change is that we finish the year on 17 December instead of 18 December. This is due to Kahukura cluster cancelling their Teachers Only Day due to COVID.

Thank you to those who filled in the survey. It will be helpful feedback for us. I'll report back when it has been analysed.
