Messages from the Tumuaki

Denise Torrey —

He mihi mahana ki a koutou katoa - Warm greetings to all.

Next Thursday night our Year 5 & 6 Choir perform at the Christchurch Schools Musical Festival. Best wishes to this group and thank you to Jane Brittenden and Danielle Thomson for preparing them for this event. We are looking forward to seeing them perform at the Town Hall.

Congratulations to our tamariki who competed last Thursday in the Huxster Mountain Bike Race. Our teams were very successful in their races. See full article.

 Swimming.

Many thanks to all those parents and caregivers who helped out at swimming this year. Every year I say the same thing. If you are going to invest in your children's wellbeing and safety  giving them swimming lessons is a wonderful gift. In a country surrounded by water, with a high rate of drowning, ensuring our tamariki are safe in the water is a MUST. Unfortunately, we cannot do more than 10 lessons a year and keeping them safe requires more than this each year.

Class Placements 2023

A reminder to let me know any information that can help with your child's placement next year. Please contact me by 4 November NOT the class teacher. After this date it will be too late.

I'm happy to discuss student combinations but will not enter any discussion into staff requests.

Please inform the school office if you child is not going to be attending our school in 2023.

Teachers Union Meeting Thursday 17 November.  Please read details in a further article.  It is important to contact your child's classroom teacher if you cannot make arrangements for them on this afternoon.

If you'd like to pop down to assembly on Friday we'd love to see you.
