Last Friday Room 10 and 12 went on a trip to Te Iringa o Kahukura (The Port Hills) and the Ōpāwaho river.
We walked a long way and saw some great views while learning about our local place, their names and how they were used hundreds of years ago by tangata whenua. We learnt about Rāpaki (Rāpaki rock), Te Heru o Kahukura (Sugarloaf), Harakeke (flax) and the Ōpāwaho river and why these are important for us.
